Overview

Project Performance Group is one of the first GAPPS Endorsed Providers in the world. As the world economy globalises and project managers are able to move from country to country more easily, the ability to apply their skills transportability of qualifications and certifications becomes paramount. To ensure that project mangers’ skills and qualifications are recognised on this global journey project management certification should include the stamp of quality from a “GAPPS Endorsed Provider”. A certification that carries a GAPPS Endorsed Provider logo is automatically recognised by other GAPPS Endorsed Providers and GAPPS member organisations worldwide.

PPG offer certification at two (2) levels.

  • Global Level 1 – Moderately Complex Projects
  • Global Level 2 – Very Complex Projects

The GAPPS standards are the first global performance based standards developed by an independent body with representation from all sectors of the project management community including industry (both large and small), government standards generating bodies, professional associations and academia. This diverse group of stakeholders has ensured that the standards are of the highest quality and reflective of project management in organisations today. Developed to provide a basis for transportability, transferability and mutual recognition of qualifications, the standards were designed to complement existing Knowledge based standards by describing criteria for assessment of workplace performance. What’s Involved

Step 1: Online Assessment

Candidates must complete an online assessment against the full GAPPS standard. The assessment includes four (4) components:

1. Project Descriptions 2. Complexity Assessment 3. Evidence Checklist 4. Competency Assessment

If significant gaps in competence are revealed through the assessment candidates will need to continue development through work experience, training, coaching and/or reading and self study.

Once all gaps are bridged, the assessment results will be reviewed by an assessor and the level of certification (Global Level 1 or Global Level 2) will be determined.

Step 2: Gather Portfolio of Evidence

Candidates must gather an electronic portfolio of evidence using the evidence checklist provided. It is estimated that this should take no more than four (4) hours for a well prepared candidate. Candidates are required to provided evidence for the following units

Step 3: Formal Assessment Interview

Once the full portfolio is created an interview with a workplace assessor will be arranged. Interviews generally take place on client sites where there is easy access to information. This ensures that any secure information remains on-site.

Results of each assessment are entered into the online system by each assessor within seven (7) days of the assessment and results are posted on the candidate’s personal (secure) homepage. These can be accessed by logging into the online system using their personal username and password.

Step 4: Certificate Issued

On successful completion of the PPG GAPPS Endorsed Global Project Manager Certification program candidates will receive a PPG Global Project Manager Certificate, Endorsed by GAPPS at either Global Level 1 or Global Level 2.
