Alicia Aitken
Alicia has extensive experience in designing, implementing and evaluating project management competency models and programmes for organisations around the world.
She has worked with organisations in Europe, Africa and the Asia Pacific region, to develop and improve project management competence at both the individual and organisational levels. Her experience runs across a number of industries including, finance, telecommunications, IT, mining, oil and gas, defence and other government agencies.
Alicia is actively involved in the development of project management standards and research. For several years, she has been a prime contributor to the development of global project management standards through the Global Alliance for Project Performance Standards (GAPPS) initiative. She has also been actively involved in post graduate work at the University of Technology Sydney and now at Bond University at the Gold Coast Queensland.
Her main areas of research include both project management competency and the behavioural aspects of effective project management. She is currently completing a PhD focusing on the affects of project management culture on the coping abilities of project managers in stressful situations.
She is a regular presenter of both her research and practical experience at conferences and workshops around the world.
